Detailed Notes (Explanation)

Once upon a time, there was a farmer who loved fruits. He worked very hard on his farm and grew many fruits. He took special care of grapes and watermelons.

When the fruits were ripe and ready, he decided to gift the best fruit to the king. His wife said that the best fruits were grapes and watermelons. The farmer thought carefully. Since the palace was far away, he chose grapes because watermelons were too heavy to carry.

He filled a basket with bunches of grapes and went to the king’s palace. The palace guard took him to the royal garden. The king was playing with the princess.

When the king sat down to rest, the guard told him about the farmer’s gift. The king was in a playful mood. He ate some grapes and then threw a grape at the farmer.

The grape hit the farmer’s forehead. Instead of feeling angry, the farmer said, “Thank God!”

The king was surprised and threw another grape. Again, the farmer said, “Thank God! I am blessed!”

The king asked why he was thanking God. The wise farmer smiled and said that he had also grown watermelons. If he had brought watermelons instead of grapes, it would have hurt much more!

The king understood the farmer’s wisdom. The farmer showed that even in small troubles, we should feel thankful.
