🍌 Let’s Begin: The Banana Party

🔢 Part 1: Numbers 1 to 9

NumberDotsName
1●One
2●●Two
3●●●Three
4●●●●Four
5●●●●●Five
6●●●●●●Six
7●●●●●●●Seven
8●●●●●●●●Eight
9●●●●●●●●●Nine
💡 Counting tip Touch each thing once as you count it. The last number you say tells you how many there are.

⚖️ Part 2: More, Less, or Same

5 children and 3 pencils: match one pencil to each child. 2 children are left without one, so the pencils are less than the children.

⚠️ Common mistake Thinking big things are “more”. ❌ 3 big elephants are less than 5 tiny ants. Count them, don’t just look at size!

Pages 18–19 · Mango treat story

Let us talk

✅ AnswerA. Name the birds you see (parrot, crow, sparrow, and so on). B. 1 (the squirrel) · C. 1 more each time · D. 1 more than 1 is 2, 1 more than 2 is 3 … 1 more than 8 is 9 · E. 9 animals and birds
Pages 20–22 · Fingers and dots

Match and play

✅ AnswerCount the birds in each picture and join them to the hand showing the same number of fingers. Do the same for the dots.
Ways to show 4 on one hand: fold just the thumb, or just the little finger, or just the middle finger… any 4 fingers up and 1 down!
Pages 23–24 · Drawing day and finger game

More, less, or same

✅ AnswerDraw a line from each child to one object. If some objects are left over, there are more objects than children. If some children get nothing, there are less. If everyone gets exactly one, it’s the same.
Tick the group with more (or less) things by matching them one to one.
Pages 25–27 · Numbers 1, 2, 3… go!

Find the groups

✅ AnswerLook in the big picture for 1 sun, 2 of something, 3 of something … up to 9, and circle each group. The group of 7 stars is the Saptarshi (Big Dipper).
Pages 28–30 · Count, colour, and order

Numbers in order

✅ AnswerColour exactly 8 stars, 5 flowers, and 6 balls (count as you colour).
Join 1 → 2 → 3 … → 9 in order. Monkey’s cards in order: smallest to largest, for example 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
Missing numbers: each number is one more than the one before, for example 4, 5, 6, 7 · 1, 2, 3 · 7, 8, 9. Colour the biggest number in each set.
Pages 31–32 · Count and encircle

Groups that make 8 and 7

✅ AnswerCount the yellow boxes, jamuns, and sheep one by one and write the numbers.
E. Find two fruit groups whose numbers add up to 8 (for example, 5 and 3, or 4 and 4). F. Find two umbrella groups that make 7 (for example, 4 and 3). G. Match each cup to a spoon. The ones left without a partner show which is more, so circle the group that is less.
