🌦️ Let’s Begin: Ammu’s Year

Ammu flies kites in winter at Makar Sankranti, splashes colours in spring at Holi, eats mangoes in summer, jumps in puddles in the rainy season, and watches Ramlila in autumn. A whole year of fun!

📅 Part 1: The Calendar

DaysMonths
31January, March, May, July, August, October, December
30April, June, September, November
28 or 29February
💡 Knuckle trick Make a fist. Say the months on your knuckles and the dips between them. Months on a knuckle have 31 days!

🕒 Part 2: Reading the Clock

  • The short hand shows the hour. The long hand shows the minutes.
  • When the long hand is at 12, it is an “o’clock” time. The short hand tells which one.
  • Long hand at 12 and short hand at 4 → 4 o’clock.
⚠️ Common mistake Reading the long hand as the hour. ❌ If the long hand is on 3 and the short hand is on 12, it is not 3 o’clock. Always look at the short hand for the hour.

🧭 Part 3: Directions

Face the rising sun: in front is East, behind is West, your left is North, and your right is South.
